Metro East Disaster Relief
I'm in the process of setting up a nonprofit organization called Metro East Disaster Relief. Its mission is to provide direct assistance immediately following a natural disaster — a tornado, flood, lightning-caused fire, or anything else that turns a normal day upside down.
The goal is to bridge the gap between the moment a disaster happens and the point when larger, long-term relief organizations are able to set up. In those first hours and days, people need water, food, transportation, a hotel room for the night, or groceries to replace everything lost in a power outage. That's exactly where this organization will step in with direct financial assistance.
There will be no income verification. Help will be available to anyone in the Metro East affected by a natural disaster. Long term, the goal is to stock supplies and deliver them directly to people who need them.
This is not a 501(c)(3) organization yet. Donations made today are not tax deductible.
Assistance will not be available for a little while. Right now, every dollar donated goes toward the state, federal, and legal fees required to get this nonprofit officially established.

This is a running, public list of everyone who has donated to help get Metro East Disaster Relief started. It updates automatically as donations come in. Donors who choose to be listed appear by the name they provided, along with the amount and whether it was a one-time gift or a monthly, recurring donation.
